These Terms govern your use of this engineering community website and related services (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Nature of the Service

The Service is an online technical community for discussion of CAE and related engineering workflows. Content is largely user-generated. It is not a substitute for professional engineering judgment, certified consulting, or vendor support contracts.

2. Accounts

  • Provide accurate registration information and keep it updated.
  • You are responsible for activity under your account.
  • One person, one account, unless staff approve otherwise.
  • We may refuse, suspend, or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or the Community Guidelines.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Violate applicable laws or regulations
  • Harass others or post hateful/abusive content
  • Distribute malware, phishing links, or intentionally harmful files
  • Share cracked software, license keys, or piracy-related material
  • Attempt unauthorized access, scraping abuse, or service disruption
  • Upload content that infringes IP, privacy, or confidentiality obligations

4. Engineering content and risk

  • Simulation setups, scripts, meshes, and advice shared by users may be incomplete or context-specific.
  • You are solely responsible for validating methods, units, boundary conditions, and safety-critical decisions in your own projects.
  • Do not rely on community posts as certified engineering deliverables.

5. Your content license

  • You retain ownership of content you post, to the extent permitted by law.
  • By posting, you grant the Service a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, distribute, and adapt the content as needed to operate, secure, moderate, back up, and improve the community.
  • You confirm you have rights to post the content and that sharing it does not violate employer/client NDAs or export-control rules.

6. Moderation

We may remove or restrict content, limit features, or suspend accounts when reasonably necessary to protect the community, comply with law, or enforce these Terms.

7. Third-party services

Links, plugins, and integrations are provided for convenience. We are not responsible for third-party sites, tools, or policies.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill. Our aggregate liability for claims relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) fees you paid us for the Service in the prior 12 months, or (b) USD 50 (or local equivalent), except where liability cannot be limited by law.

10. Changes and contact

We may update these Terms by changing the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, posting a notice. Continued use after changes means acceptance. Contact details are on the About page.
